Dr. Wendy M. Christensen, a Maine native, received her PhD from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Bowdoin College. Currently she is an Associate Professor in the Sociology Department at William Paterson University in New Jersey. Dr. Christensen teaches courses in social movements, research methods, social inequality and stratification, sociological theory, sociology of gender, sociology of the family, war and military, sociology of culture, news media, and Internet communications technology. Teachers taking her classes comment on how her motivational ideas in using technology for both teaching and learning continues to help them in their classrooms.
